English (alternate/rewrite)
Hello! I would like to request a language implementation for another alternative English localization - I'd like to give the existing English scripts a "second draft" that sacrifices raw accuracy for readability, flow, flavor, and coherency as a fair amount of people seem to dislike what's currently available.
:The Lang_en-alt portal was created exactly for this case and is still largely untouched. Why not use that one? --Splashman (blub) (talk) 17:40, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

:Would vandalism really be that likely in the Vietnamese community? I once assumed the same for the English one, but I haven't seen any vandalism yet. But yes, it's technically not possible yet to lock a certain language code for certain users.

: Sorry for the late reply.

: The problem now is that the existing Vietnamese translation has been there for close to three years. Moving the translations to a different language code now would break patch updates, as well as other code THVNFB might have written that expects their translation to be at <tt>lang_vi</tt>. We can ask them if that would actually be an issue. Or we could simply add a new portal named <tt>vi-commmunity</tt> or something like that, which would be the least complicated option.. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 01:21, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

For now, we just plan to do some testing here and there, but we'll do our best to get the job properly done soon after, of course.

:: If that's the language you want to translate Touhou into, the language code 'ga' should already exist for you to translate to Irish. If you're referring to Hiberno-English (English used in Ireland), then the language code 'en-ie' needs to be created. These two branches cannot simply be cotegorized into zh-hant since the characters are not the same. Now I am planning to work on zh-hant following zh-tw writting rules. : There's a file name for every image on those pages, and you can simply put a file with the same name into the correct patch and game subdirectory of your thcrap directory to preview it in-game before the upload. So, for example, if you want to edit the Vietnamese community version of <tt>loading/sig1280.png</tt> of TH15, your local translated image needs to be named <tt>sig1280.png</tt> and be stored in the <tt>thpatch/lang_vi-community/th15/loading</tt> directory. Translation Notes

Would it be possible to include a .txt for each language with possible translation notes together with the patch? Many of the translations in my language have weird meanings or references which would be quite important to mention in a separate file for the users, and I'm sure all the languages would need that as well. Thanks in advance.

Including the file is no problem - you could simply upload this .txt file using the normal wiki uploader, and include it via a Thcrap Include call on the Patch:Lang_pt-br page. At the moment, you wouldn't have the access rights to do this yourself, but once I've finished the new security system, it will be possible.
However, of course you need to show users that this file exists. thcrap currently doesn't have a method to do that.
This already is a planned feature for the future graphical patch configuration tool (along with other nice things like automatic generation of a "credits section" from the wiki data). But development on that won't be started until after the PC-98 patches have been completed. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 22:59, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
Alright, the new security system is now set up. You could now include a text file by posting something like onto the Patch:Lang_pt-br page, and then uploading that file. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 19:57, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

The Lang_en-alt portal was created exactly for this case and is still largely untouched. Why not use that one? --Splashman (blub) (talk) 17:40, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

Canadian French

Hello there, is it possible for Canadian French to be a subsection? As a French-Canadian, I often don't enjoy games written in pure French, because we have a lot of talking differences. I'd gladly make most of the translations by myself from already existing French and English translations.

Hello, I'm NightLunya. Also being the new leader of Thpatch under very long restructuration, I'm also the leader of the french translation team managed by my community, Touhou-Online.
I will suggest you to follow us on our forum there: Touhou-Online (please, make a new account) and follow our post about translation guideline here: Touhou-Online french translation guideline. This way we could manage an additionnal guideline for Canadian French translation together with the main guideline to get the highest quality as possible.
Also, we are already a team with several translators in all branch (translators itself, spellcheckers, management of the team and translation, testers... the whole group... Including French-speaking canadians!)

Vietnamese THVNFB

May i request for a sub portal of Vietnamese for THVNFB? we're an independent Touhou community in Vietnam and have a private translation group which having more organized skill and style in translation. It be easier for us since our translation process is going smoothly, but might get interrupted with individual translators who freely using the main portal. Thanks in advance

Well, the main Vietnamese portal is currently unused, and the Vietnamese translations as a whole are not seeing a lot of activity. I see no problem with your group "taking over" the main portal - just add a note telling others that your group has everything under control. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 04:59, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Alternative Vietnamese Translation

I would like to request for another vietnamese subportal for an alternative Vietnamese translation, the translation done by THVNFB while not extractly wrong, made heavy use of borrowed chinese words, which not only made touhou read like a chinese story from the middle age in their translation, but also falsely convey some meaning. My translation project aim to create a Vietnamese translation that use mostly pure vietnamese words/vocabulary and only rely on borrowed chinese words when absolute necessary, that should make touhou read more like a moderm work/story, which is what it really is.

Collaboration between us is not possible, as people other than me have criticised their translation style in the past, but they refused to change.

If possible, please let only me have permission to edit the alternative Vietnamese subportal, due to the nature of VN touhou fandom, there are a good chance of vandalism, a lone translator I am, I'm experienced and have plenty of free time, I can completely translate at least one story scenario per day including extra scenario, so if all go as planned, all the main game translation should be done in little more than a month, there might be other translator will join me in the future too.

Thank in advance. Kimidori (talk)

I see. I'm a little bit reluctant to open yet another closed Vietnamese sub-code, though. After reading your explanation, I'm convinced to move the existing vi translations to vi-thvnfb (after all, that's what they proposed initially as well). But there's still the question which language code to give to you.
Would vandalism really be that likely in the Vietnamese community? I once assumed the same for the English one, but I haven't seen any vandalism yet. But yes, it's technically not possible yet to lock a certain language code for certain users.
Since I always prefer to keep the base language code open for community editing, I would like to do the same with vi. If you are really that worried about vandalism, I could very well create a separate code (how about vi-neutral?) that you can announce as yours in its portal page. vi will then stay empty for now.
If you decide on this, I'll try adding a protection feature, but I can't guarantee anything in that regard.

But there would also be another option.

Thinking about all this, I've decided to prioritize the support for multiple patch servers. This would allow (and require) you to directly edit the patch files yourself without going through Touhou Patch Center, and to host them on a separate server. This server does not necessarily have to be a paid or free webspace; anything that supports basic HTTP will work. Even a cloud service like Dropbox will do.
Touhou Patch Center would then only contain the URL to your server, to make it show up in the configuration tool.
However, it will take a while to implement this into the configuration tool (I guess it will be available a month from now). Once that's done, I'll also ask THVNFB to move their translations to a private server.
To summarize, you can now choose between the following:
1. vi will be moved to vi-thvnfb, vi will be opened for community editing.
2. vi will be moved to vi-thvnfb, vi-neutral will be added and treated as being under your control. vi will remain empty for now.
3. Wait until multiple patch servers are supported (~ 1 month), then set up your own server, fully under your control, without going through Touhou Patch Center.
--NamelessLegacy (talk) 18:10, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
I think I'll wait till multiple patch servers are supported
Thank you for your effort

Request To Open Up Main Portal

To my knowledge, currently there is at least one other Vietnamese Touhou community who would be interested in translating the games, and who have the means and talent to do so. For that reason, I would like to request that THVNFB's translation be moved to a subportal, opening up the main portal for other communities to edit.

Hinarie (talk)

Sorry for the late reply.
The problem now is that the existing Vietnamese translation has been there for close to three years. Moving the translations to a different language code now would break patch updates, as well as other code THVNFB might have written that expects their translation to be at lang_vi. We can ask them if that would actually be an issue. Or we could simply add a new portal named vi-commmunity or something like that, which would be the least complicated option.. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 01:21, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for the reply.
Because it has indeed been so long, I don't think it's very likely that THVNFB can immediately give us a reply if we ask them, or if they still remember everything accurately from code written 3 years ago.
For that reason, I believe it would indeed be better to have a new portal under the name of vi-community, which will be open for everyone. On our side, we will also try to contact THVNFB and ask them about the code, and see how it goes from there. Hinarie (talk) 09:38, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Done, vi-community is now set up. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 22:14, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

Flag pt.svg Português (PT)

I'd like to request Portuguese from Portugal. I know it appears on the drop-menu as "pt - português" but the results of the search are actually from the "português do brasil" translation. And I can't change those since they're from a different dialect. Monykukki (talk) 20:36, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Created a portal page for it - the integration into the patcher has already been done, so you can start translating right away.
I was wondering about the dialect differences too. Since I don't know much about the differences between European and Brazilian Portuguese, I would have suggested to do it just like British English - where that translation only contains the differences to American English. But some research I just did has shown that there are indeed significant differences especially in informal language. So, if it is easier for you to just start a new translation from scratch, go ahead. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 20:43, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

We still have a portal for Brazilian Portuguese troll translations which has been largely unused. I'd say you could just use that one. --NamelessLegacy (talk), 01:24, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
If I use the portal pt-br-lol, people can get confused by the name, besides interfering in the translation of who really wants to do a troll translation (although the portal is inactive, someone may appear sometime). If the problem is because you think the portal will be inactive, I really intend to translate it, but if there is no other way (like moving pt-br-lol to another name or creating the portal I suggested) I can use pt-br-lol (and again, sorry for my bad english). Raymoo Hack Ray (talk) 15:07, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Latin Spanish

Hi, I'd like to request Latin Spanish. The one we have right now is Spanish from Spain, and it has differences in dialect. Some people want to translate to Latin Spanish, so it could be a good idea to have a portal for them. --Ghildrean 10:13, 21 August 2013 (UTC+1)

Alright, created es-419 (yes, not exactly intuitive, but this is the widely recommended code for that).
The patch definition currently does not state to the user whether this is just a difference patch (like en-gb is to en) or a full standalone translation (like pt-br is to pt), since it doesn't seem to be clear at this point. I'll edit that once it does. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 09:59, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Venezuelan Spanish + troll

Can you add venezuelan spanish (es-ve) and venezuelan spanish troll (es-ve-lol)? Hhhh (talk) 01:32, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Done. As with Argentine Spanish, I've set up the Venezuelan Spanish patch to inherit all existing translations from Latin American Spanish and, if a certain thing is not translated there, from European Spanish. This means that you only have to edit the things you actually want to change compared to the existing Spanish translations.
The Venezuelan Spanish troll translations in turn inherit from the regular Venezuelan Spanish translation, all the way down to European Spanish.
If you want me to change any of those fallback settings, just tell me. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 21:04, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Argentinian spanish

Hi, is it possible to add an argentinian spanish section? We will try to translate TH 15 with a little group of people. --Faraday (talk) 03:36, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Yes, I've just added this, and you can now start translating using the language code es-ar. I've set up the Argentine Spanish patch to inherit all existing translations from Latin American Spanish and, if a certain thing is not translated there, from European Spanish. This means that you only have to edit the things you actually want to change compared to the existing Spanish translations. If you want me to change those fallback settings, just tell me. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 00:28, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Suzunaan Blog Spanish

So, yeah, this is kinda weird but I hope I can get this done. I own a Touhou Spanish translation blog (mangas, books, etc) called Suzunaan so a while ago I decided to start to translate TH games using thcrap. Problem is "European Spanish" patches is full of bad translations, awful edits and, overall, Latin American people who decided to start translating there for... some reason.

I tried to adapt to them but this is just a mess. Completely different dialect, for example. And, again, awful editting, translating. I'm not here to say "hey look I'm better than everyone else" because I myself think I'm not that good translating. But as a fluent Japanese speaker I just can't work with people who translate using Google's Translator. And, of course, using English patches as reference. I can't stand it anymore. TH16 demo was translated literally by me because their work was horrible, I'm sorry to say.

So I wish I (we) could have my own "sub-language" where I can freely work and use it to connect to my blog so I can create a nice and coherent translation ecosystem (similar to thcrap's English translations and Touhou Wiki Translation Project). If it's not possible at all, sorry for wasting your time. --Plubio (talk) 20:54, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

That's not weird at all, we've had separate sub-languages for certain communities and translators before. es-suzunaan is now ready, have fun! --NamelessLegacy (talk) 22:25, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
Aah, sorry for bothering again. Thank you for creating my own translation project, but now I'm having some issues. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not but it seems my translated images aren't getting into the patches. Any idea of what could be happening or it is just some weird issue? --Plubio (talk) 02:21, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
Some weird issue, it's fixed now. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 02:30, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you so much for your time and help! :) --Plubio (talk) 02:33, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Hourai Doll Spanish

We're a Spanish translations group that works on official mangas and fanmade doujins. As we currently want to expand our horizons, we want to have our own sub-language on thcrap. Our team consists of various editors, English and Japanese translators and also a handful of cleaners and QCs.

For now, we just plan to do some testing here and there, but we'll do our best to get the job properly done soon after, of course.

Thanks for the help~ --Papita con Puré (talk) 20:15, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

Dub English

I'd like to request Dub English, where everything is translated like a bad 4Kids dub. This should be under the joke languages. Dancingbug11 (talk) 19:45, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

It is done: Portal:En-4kids. --Splashman (blub) (talk) 21:01, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
I have to say, I thank myself for doing this, and you for creating it. Just...Mysteryland needs to go somewhere now. Let's do it. Dancingbug11 (talk) 19:29, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Pig Latin?

This Idea Came into My Mind

This has now been added. Enjoy! --DTM (talk) 05:11, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Irish

I'd like to put Touhou into Irish. Dancingbug11 (talk) 00:14, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Irish, as in, this language? --NamelessLegacy (talk) 23:08, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
If that's the language you want to translate Touhou into, the language code 'ga' should already exist for you to translate to Irish. If you're referring to Hiberno-English (English used in Ireland), then the language code 'en-ie' needs to be created. If this is going to be like British English (having '(American) English' stacked with it), then I also suggest stacking British English as well, since Hiberno-English also uses a lot of British spelling, vocabulary and grammar, but that is up to you lot :) ― Tony (Talk/Con.) 20:54, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
Yes, Hiberno would be good. Dancingbug11 (talk) 21:37, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Javanese

Hello, I have some friends who would like to put Touhou into Javanese (They only want to register here after the section is up). While Javanese have its own alphabet, we'd rather put it in Latin alphabet. Also, we're most likely to have big influences from Indonesian language, so as a sub-section to Indonesian language, perhaps? --TFisher93 (talk) 13:41, 13 March 2016 (UTC)

Alright, I've just added the jv language code, and set up the Javanese patch to have a dependency on Indonesian. Have fun translating! --NamelessLegacy (talk) 06:45, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Hindi

Hello. I'd like to translate Touhou into Hindi. I'm most likely alone in this, but Touhou in an Indian Language should be interesting. --FalKoopa (talk) 15:13, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

As you noticed, I created the necessary portal and patch pages for the hi language code two days ago. However, the Hindi patch probably needs a better font, since the one Windows uses as a fallback right now appears pretty small.
I looked around a bit, and the Hind font from Google appeared to be quite legible. Here are some screenshots with some sample text I took from the Hindi Wikipedia:
If this looks fine to you, I'll set up the Hindi patch to bundle that font. Or do you have another one in mind? --NamelessLegacy (talk) 03:51, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
That looks good. The default Windows font is a bit ugly, tbh. Thanks.--FalKoopa (talk) 19:--Spaztron64 (talk) 00:16, 1 July 2016 (UTC)59, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
And done, the font is now bundled with the Hindi patch. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 20:31, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
Is it possible to grab the updated Nirmala UI font from Windows 10? (It's the fallback font in Win 10) I found that font to be far more legible in the earlier games.--FalKoopa (talk) 16:54, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
And while I'm at it, the translated images I've uploaded aren't downloading or appearing in-game. What should I do?--FalKoopa (talk) 22:19, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
Uhh, sorry for another edit in a row, but looked over the Gitter conversation and I guess I'm fine with letting the Hind font stay.--FalKoopa (talk) 18:42, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

Serbian

Hello. If possible, could the SR code be added to the automatic patcher? I've translated quite a lot of text in EoSD and I would love to see my results in-game. For convenience, I used Latin, and not Cyrilic so that people from Croatia, Montenegro and BiH could read my translations without a problem.

I'll get to it tomorrow. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 22:29, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
Appreciated. It also seems that there is no Serbian flag as an option. If possible, take care of that too.

Google Translations request

Because it is hilarious. Domran (talk) 11:13, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Thought about auto-generating such a patch directly on the server for a while, but since thcrap can't do automatic line breaks yet, that wouldn't actually work too well. Also, I assume this patch is probably meant to be a showcase of the funniest translations Google ever had for each individual line, rather than how Google would translate it right now. So, I've just set it up as a normal "translatable language". Have fun! --NamelessLegacy (talk) 13:20, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Dramatic English

I had a little idea, maybe re-word the dialogue and spell names to not sound as boring. (and maybe even give it a shakespearean twist) Although to be honest, it'd probably just be a patch for people who want some new dialogue.

That does sound interesting, albeit a bit vague. How about you join us on Discord and tell us what exactly you have in mind?--Splashman (blub) (talk) 19:49, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

Turkish

I'd like to translate Touhou into Turkish. I'm doing it alone, but I've already started translating, also, if you create the necessary pages, other Turkish people maybe want to help it (Actually, I think it's unlikely). --ZetA

Alright, I've set up the portal and the remaining things around it. tr is the language code in the list, and I'll add the patch to thcrap_configure as soon as the first translations are in. Have fun! --NamelessLegacy (talk) 18:54, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

En-90s

Portal:En-90s is something I came up with, can you add it to the languages? I wanna work on my first solo project! Dancingbug11 (talk) 01:59, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

I've just added the code, have fun! --NamelessLegacy (talk) 04:30, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

Swedish

Could you add Swedish to the languages? I have a solo translation of HSiFS mostly ready and would like to see it in game. -- Carlioo

Done, have fun! --NamelessLegacy (talk) 10:48, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Hebrew

Hi! I was wondering if it's possible to add the Hebrew language. I love translating and would love to try being part of this community! -- Rotemboy2

Oh! Is this the time we get to add proper support for right-to-left ingame text to thcrap, after all Arabic translators in the past 7 years have left after a few days, without pushing for that code to be written? Unfortunately at this point, said code would either need to be crowdfunded, or be written by someone else than me.
As for simply translating, you can already start by following the tutorial and selecting the he language code. I'll create the portal and the patch shortly after the first translations are in. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 20:09, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

Ithkuil

It's a constructed language like Esperanto or Lojban that's infamous for being very precise, concise and almost unlearnable (that doesn't stop it from having a sizeable community, though). There's not a lot of text written in it except the examples on its site and an album so I thought it would be cool to try to translate Touhou into it.--Toimine (talk) 15:15, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

zh-tw and zh-hk

These two branches cannot simply be cotegorized into zh-hant since the characters are not the same. Now I am planning to work on zh-hant following zh-tw writting rules. However, I do expect you can add these two branches under zh-hant in case of being ambiguous.NamelessFairy (talk) 04:54, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

Also, the corresponding forms to describe them in their own language are 臺灣正體 and 香港繁體. --NamelessFairy (talk) 05:18, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

Slovenian

Hello, me and my friends would like to start working on translating tohuou into Slovenian --szaklanc

Uwu

Uwu is a joke conlang by u/lotheg90. It became the most upvoted post on r/conlangs, and a meme in the community. I recently had the idea of translating Touhou into it, might be a mistake --Iliekchez (talk) 00:31, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

Toki Pona

According to Wikipedia, Toki Pona is a philosophical artistic constructed language (or philosophical artlang) known for its small vocabulary. I've been interested in the language lately and want to translate at least one full Touhou game into Toki Pona. wikipedia:Toki Pona Wizzito (talk) 02:24, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

I'd like for the Toki Pona identifier to be changed from tokipona to tok. Toki Pona has the ISO 639-3 code of tok and it would be nice if the wiki reflects that like how other languages use their own abbreviated language codes. jan Oka (talk) 00:21, 1 June 2022 (UTC)

Sitelen Pona

I'd like to add a separate page (a sub-page like the troll translations) for Toki Pona's logography, sitelen pona. It uses Unicode private use areas according to UCSUR's placements. I'd like to use the Unicode/juniko version of this font.--Laughingatlemons (talk) 22:20, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

Swedish Joke/Troll Patch

Hey, for a while me and my friend has planned to make a Swedish joke patch and we wonder if it's possible to do so here as the only Swedish patches are the regular ones. It's planned to be about traveling through the country of Sweden and meeting people with different accents or ways of living with Reimu being South and Marisa swearing a lot (censored out). If it somehow already exists on this site I'd like to know where I can find it --Hazelnoet (talk) 16:40, 29 August 2022 (UTC)

Kurdish

hi, I want to make a Kurdish translation of touhou 6 at least, i think my dialect is badini, for some reason, i thought it would be a good idea despite literally being in year 11 and having GCSEs in a few months. --holdmyapplejuice (talk) 13:39, 1 October 2022 (UTC)

Azerbaijani

Hi, EN07Z here, I would like to request Azerbaijani portal, have already started translating Th06 and more to come later.

Latin (Online Translators Version)

Hi, hello, I would like to make a request to create a translation of Touhou into Latin, but due to its complexity I would like to use online translators and dictionaries to create at least the Latin version of Touhou 6. I think that, because Latin was used in literary works until the eighteenth century, and also by the Roman Empire and ecclesiastical Catholic Church. If there is any version already created and fully translated into Latin, please let me know, and I'll be grateful. --Karium (talk) 14:36, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Done (sorry for the delay, I have a problem with mail notifications and didn't see your request for a long time). --Brliron (talk) 09:25, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

Flag sr-literal.svg Literal Serbian

Hello, I would like to make a translation to Serbian which would be more literal than the existing Sebian translation, similar to the Literal English translation(but make different rules to adapt for better reading and for the Serbian language). I will use latin letters since I wouldn't need to switch to the Cyrilic keyboard every half a minute(I may make a cyrilic variant if I have time). If possible, I would like to have it be seen as Bukvalni Srpski in the home page.

Current Project Goals

This is the Nazeo, back again to spin things up! Currently I am looking for artists, translators, and developers that can assist on the project.

Specifically what is needed for the artistry side is on this link.

Translators, new and old, we always appreciate your help! If there is a language currently not on the wiki, let us know so we can add in yours. For existing languages on the wiki, if you don't understand how to use the system, just post on this page or simply come on the irc on freenode, channel #thcrap for inquires.

For the developers, knowledge in JSON ( for patch data ), Python3 ( for certain scripts ), x86 assembly (for the interface between the games and the engine using OllyDbg), C ( for the engine itself ) and Visual Studio ( for debugging and building ), also knowing MinGW is a plus. Source code is in Nmglc's Github account

Even if you do not have one of the aforementioned skills, you can still contribute in other ways! Spread the word, tell people what we are about, or even stop on by and we'll find a way to add you on. This project is by touhou fans, for the touhou fan.

During this restructuring, I will be overseeing the needed components to better transition with the new management of the site as well as the patch.
I will be available for questions, and you can reach me several ways, as noted on my userpage.

Current Staff is as follows: Staff

Progress and ideas can be followed on gitter There also has been activety on the facebook page.

I'm looking forward to working with all of y'all and happy to be of service! And again, thanks for two years of support, I and the team here will do everything within our power to get things back to standard.

Use of REDIRECT in dialogue boxes

(I'm just going to put this here because I don't know where else to put it)

So, I tried to use REDIRECT to make it so that the es translation uses what the es-419 has, because both translations are going to end up being basically the same thing repeated twice and this would help reduce the maintenance work - instead of having to change the es-419 translation and then having to change the appropiate part of the es translation so that they match, people would only need to change the first one and the changes would take effect in the other one too.

However, using REDIRECT isn't working. In-game, it just shows an ugly "#REDIRECT Translations:Th15/Reimu's Scenario/2 Reimu/es-419" in place of the proper dialogue. So, my question is the following: If I can't use REDIRECT to force the program to grab from the es-419 translation, how should I do it? Or is the only solution to copy everything by hand and having to change both translation should updates pop up? --Goldenhog (talk) 20:15, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

when is th15 going to be completed?

The full version is only in Japanese, the rest of the languages haven't had the rest of the stages added yet. Dancingbug11 (talk) 20:50, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

When it's done. Wymar (talk) 20:23, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
Will you translate Stage 4? It's on thwiki Dancingbug11 (talk) 02:49, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

ANM files

I've changed the sizes and sprite boundaries of a few images, so they need a modified ANM file to work. Can you add ANM files to the thpatch server?

For example, music00.png in the venezuelan spanish language needs music00.anm to work.

You can include hard-patched files the way Patch:Lang_en does it currently. Just place the include to the Patch page (Patch:Lang_es-ve I'm assuming) --DTM (talk) 02:26, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

Image

Hi,

How could I get the images patched in the game? The group hasn't completed uploading the images and the translation, but it would help very much seeing the progress in game so that we can make adjustment to it. Th15/Image vi-community is what we are working on. I'm very grateful to receive helps. -Another Oni (talk) 23:41, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

There's a file name for every image on those pages, and you can simply put a file with the same name into the correct patch and game subdirectory of your thcrap directory to preview it in-game before the upload. So, for example, if you want to edit the Vietnamese community version of loading/sig1280.png of TH15, your local translated image needs to be named sig1280.png and be stored in the thpatch/lang_vi-community/th15/loading directory. Look at the locally downloaded data for other patches for further examples.
However, note that your locally stored version of a specific image will be overwritten as soon as someone uploads a translated image with the same name to this site. This can only be disabled by disabling automatic updates altogether in your run configuration.
Also, this explains how to reduce the file size of your translated images. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 00:17, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for replying. Now we can test it.
But there's a problem that I forgot to ask, for some reason, the images don't automatically update. When I checked the folder of the patch, the folders for the image hadn't been created, and although I manually created them, it seems that the patch didn't put the files in there.
Even though the en-lol patch works perfectly in this area
EDIT: After manually created and patch the game, the thcrap DOES update using the images from the server. Maybe it's because we didn't have the images on the server when downloaded the patch, so it was ignored by the thcrap somehow..-Another Oni (talk) 01:25, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, I've fixed it in the meantime. This site is getting pretty old by now and apparently, the server needs to be manually kicked into actually writing the image files for every new language now. If any of your future image uploads don't show up within a minute, just tell us (either here or on the Gitter page) and we'll quickly do that. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 01:44, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Hi there. Sorry for bothering you again, but for some reason, after reuploading newer version of the images (namely the player_xx files), the thcrap couldn't patch it to the game, saying CRC32 Mismatch or 404 0-byte file. EDIT: Problem solved, as it's my computer bug, not the server.-Another Oni (talk) 08:22, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
It actually was the server, I've just fixed that as well. Same problem I've described above, and I'll probably have to do this manually for every image in vi-community from now on… --NamelessLegacy (talk) 14:56, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
It seems that the bug does happen with every new image we upload. Are there any way to fix it once and for all? -Another Oni (talk) 04:33, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
Discussion continued on Gitter. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 06:38, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Touhou 6 to Touhou 9 Ending

I've just notice it, why there are no ending section in the translatable content in Touhou 6 to 9? Are they not supported currently? -Another Oni (talk) 00:24, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

Yes, they aren't supported right now. ZUN changed the ending format for Icon th10.png Mountain of Faith, which absolutely had to be supported by thcrap before the release of Icon th14.png Double Dealing Character. But because there were always other more pressing issues, I haven't gotten to the older format since then. It might become patchable soon, as brliron has been adding more and more support for Icon th06.png Embodiment of Scarlet Devil in recent builds, which would include endings at one point. No guarantees on when that will happen, though. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 07:43, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
Since it might take a while until the endings get supported, you can always manually edit the .end files and include them in your patch for now. See here for the files and my old translation table for jp/en/ger. --Splashman (blub) (talk) 05:53, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Alternative Russian translation

Hello, I have been translating Touhou into Russian for some time. I wanted to ask, is it possible to add a comic translation, "Goblin Russian"? Thanks for attention.

Done, the code is ru-goblin, and the portal is here. I'll add it to thcrap_configure once the first translations are in. Have fun! --NamelessLegacy (talk) 10:49, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Latin Spanish - Paradise of Boundaries

Hello, Orphen Nightford here, I'm the leader of the Hispanic touhou community Paradise of Boundaries. I wish to request a new section since my community wishes to translate touhou games and make them compatible with the TPC patch. Our goal is to provide a more neutral alternative for the Latin American Spanish translation. Mr. Tremolo Measure, leader of "Patch Center Español", supports this decision and encouraged me to make this request.

Name: Latin Spanish (Paradise of Boundaries Translation) Code: es-pob

Done, added the code, and the portal is here, I'll add it to thcrap_configure once the first translations are in. Should I setup any of the existing Spanish patches as a dependency that is automatically added when picking es-pob in thcrap_configure? --NamelessLegacy (talk) 15:44, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Of course, thank you so much!
By the way. I started to translate some things from Touhou 16 and I would like to see the progress in the game. Please, could you make our translation available in the patch?
That actually only was some kind of server bug. Should be working now. --NamelessLegacy (talk) 13:54, 21 March 2019 (UTC)

Dialected English?

Hi! I'm ToyoNoMiko, I am new here. But ever since I looked at the English languages, I don't know which one my "Dialect" English patch project could fit into. I thought about Alt. English, but I'm still not sure. Since my project provides the characters to have multiple dialects (not like one has 15 dialects, but each of the characters may have a different dialect then the other.) Maybe could there be Dialect English portal?

Pre-reform writed russian?

Hello everyone! Recently i started to be intrested in launguages, and i want to translate touhou to pre-reform russian launguage writing (Russian launguage writing before 1917)

And yes, it's still being used by some people because of it comical look. Ultra-popular games like Minecraft already has that version of russian launguage. Thanks for attention))

(Code might named as "ru-imperial", or "ru-prereform')

Done (sorry for the delay, I only noticed your message a few days ago). --Brliron (talk) 09:02, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

Yodish English?

Would it be no trouble to add a Yodish translation (yoda from star wars lol). I'd try my best to translate most of the everything once I figure out how to do everything. (The code may just be 'yo' for yoda or 'ye' for yoda english). Thanks in advance.

Done, new language added as en-yoda - English as spoken by Yoda from Star Wars. I let you upload the flag for the language at Flag en-yoda.svg (for example, you can take the lang_en flag and put a baby Yoda picture over it).
Enjoy! --Brliron (talk) 10:47, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

A translation patch for those who enjoyed things like Hellsing Ultimate Abridged and DBZA. If it's not a problem I think it could be a fun project. code could simply be en-abridged
