Template documentation This template originally comes from the English Wiki. A template for dialogues and their translations, which can be read by the patcher. Usage General This template is structured as follows: {{DialogTable/Header}} {{DialogTable|type (optional; see below for a list of types) | code =Timecode within the game's dialog file (needed for patches) | side =Text color. 0 for players; 1 for opponents; omit for black (optional; not used by patcher) | char =Character name (optional) | tl =Transcription/translation | note =Translation note (optional) | altentry =Helps with copying and pasting dialogue for Th18 Stage 6, according to the TouhouPatchCenter GitHub repository (optional) }} {{DialogTable/Footer}} {{DialogTable}} can be abbreviated as {{Dt}}. A call to {{DialogTable}} always corresponds to exactly one text box in the game. This number of text boxes within a level may not be increased or decreased, otherwise existing replays would be desynchronized. Superfluous text boxes or those with invalid timecodes are ignored by the patcher. However, there are always two lines of text available for translation per call, even if only one of them is used in the original Japanese text. These should be separated either with <br/> or with two line breaks. Example: {{DialogTable/Header}} {{DialogTable | side =0 | char =Reimu | tl =Hello! Types Default The default type is used if a type is not specified, or if the specified type is invalid. Examples of its usage can be seen above. It uses the |char=, |code=, |altentry=, and |tl= parameters. nochar |nochar displays similarly to the default type, but does not include anything in the table cell for the character's name. It can be used on ending pages for (untabbed) narration, and on the ending pages for Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Perfect Cherry Blossom, Imperishable Night, and Phantasmagoria of Flower View, which all use a different ending format than the later games. It uses only the |code= and |tl= parameters. Marisa: Hi! tabchar Unlike the other types, |tabchar uses the |char= parameter in-game. It is typically used on ending pages of games including and after Mountain of Faith to indent character names and dialogue so they are aligned with the rest of the names/dialogue in-game. It uses the |char=, |code=, and |tl= parameters. Example: {{DialogTable/Header}} {{DialogTable|tabchar | char =Reimu | tl =Hello! }} {{DialogTable|tabchar | char =Marisa | tl =Hi! }} {{DialogTable/Footer}} Output: Reimu　 Hello! Marisa　 Hi! status Optionally, {{DialogTable/status}} can be used to mark certain situations. For example: {{DialogTable/Header}} {{DialogTable/status | status =story_char_defeat | Reimu Hakurei }} {{DialogTable/Footer}} Output: Reimu Hakurei defeated Note that status is not a type, and should be written as {{DialogTable/status}} instead of {{DialogTable|status}}. h1 If the {{DialogTable}} serves as a title, |h1 can be used to mark the translation as a title or header of the translation. The character title displays in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil and Perfect Cherry Blossom must be marked with this type because otherwise the patcher cannot distinguish them from normal text boxes! assist |assist is used by the partner dialogs in Subterranean Animism, where the character name is within the text box stands. This type additionally uses the {{MsgAssist}} template to define the abbreviated character name - the normal |char= parameter is ignored. This will automatically format the sentence as it would appear in the game.
